Swagelok is in (Swiss)loop
ETH students develop the mobility of tomorrow
Swissloop is a team of students shaping the future of high-speed transportation: the Hyperloop – capsules that shoot through vacuum tubes with almost no air resistance, reaching speeds of up to 1,200 km/h.

Mission Swissloop
Swissloop is an independent, non-profit association with a clear mission:
π Hands-on Education: Students gain real project experience – from engineering work to team management.
π€ Bridge to Industry: Partners like Swagelok enable direct knowledge transfer.
π¬ Research & Innovation: Swissloop tests new technologies and fosters creative ideas.
π Public Relations: The team makes the Hyperloop vision known to a broad population.
π Interdisciplinary Exchange: Students from various fields jointly develop solutions and present them internationally.
Inspiring Successes
At the European Hyperloop Week 2025 in the Netherlands, Swissloop won with its pod, Marcel Hug:
πEngineering Design Award, Best Propulsion Award, Integrated Hyperloop Design Award, Best Vacuum Awardπ₯2nd place overall – only 25 points away from victory In previous years, Swissloop also celebrated great successes at European and international competitions for the best mechanical subsystem & propulsion system as well as the SpaceX Innovation Award.
Swissloop & Swagelok – A Partnership for Precision and Safety
Since 2017, Swagelok Switzerland – ARBOR Fluidtec AG has supported the Swissloop team as a sponsor.
Our contribution: Provision of pressure regulators, hoses, and fittings
Expert advice & support for construction, propulsion systems, and safety tests
Assembly, bending work, functional and leakage tests
Examples of Collaboration: 2020: Pod "Simona de Silvestro" – Development of the braking system with Swagelok components 2017: Pod "Escher" – Cold gas propulsion system, 3rd place at the SpaceX Pod Competition π What connects us: Safety, precision, and reliability. Values that are crucial when students transform their vision into functioning prototypes.

Looking Ahead
Every autumn, with the start of the new academic year, a new team of students at the ETH Hangar in the Switzerland Innovation Park takes over responsibility. With fresh ideas, passion, and drive, Swissloop consistently advances Hyperloop technology. We are proud to be part of this journey – and look forward to shaping the future of mobility together with Swissloop. Find our more here
