Swagelok has designed and manufactured high-quality fluid system products for 60 years. One key to the company’s success is its dedication to cultivating an educated and informed workforce through a variety of development and training programs.
Sales and Service Development and Training
Swagelok leverages its distributor organization with detailed product and industry training. At quarterly senior-sales seminars, annual distributor meetings, and routine site visits, Swagelok works closely with sales  and service representatives from around the world to ensure they are current on the latest industry trends and product technology.
In addition to in-person training, Swagelok maintains several other resources for the benefit of its associates and sales and service representatives. The organization communicates through a global intranet that contains company and industry news, best practices, frequently asked questions, and an online university. Swagelok University is a virtual campus that hosts over 230 online courses on products and technology 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The company also maintains a large lending library of CD-ROMs, DVDs, videos, and books for associates and sales representatives.
Associate Development and Training
Swagelok is committed to the development and training of 4000-plus associates working at its factories and technical centers. Altogether, the company hosts nearly 100 different classroom courses on a variety of topics.  Full-time trainers develop, design, and administer the courses on subjects such as personal development, management and supervisory development, and technical training.
Development and training also take place outside the classroom with communities of practice. A community of practice is a method of exchanging information with a group of people sharing a common interest. These communities share problems, experiences, insights, tools, and best practices either face-to-face or electronically to enhance their knowledge and foster social development within the organization.
