Swagelok® 3-Valve Manifolds Ideal for Calibration and Isolation With System On-Line

The Problem: A customer needed to modify their natural gas control system. This required changing the location of existing pressure transmitters to make them more accessible for calibration and maintenance. The system did not have any calibration manifolds installed on the transmitters, which meant the method of calibration was time consuming and could only be performed when the plant was offline.

The Swagelok Solution: The customer explained the situation to the local authorized Swagelok sales and service representative who assisted the customer to develop a cost savings solution using Swagelok V series 3-valve manifolds. The manifolds mount directly to the existing transmitters and enable calibration and isolation with systems on-line.

The Swagelok representative also helped the customer determine where to relocate the transmitters and assisted with a layout sketch. The 3/8-inch existing tubing was modified with tees and other Swagelok fittings. Swagelok tube supports were used extensively for mounting all components in place. Swagelok SS-1VS6 needle valves were installed for block and bleed operation.
