Testing
Every Swagelok nonrotating-stem needle valve is factory tested with nitrogen at 1000 psig (69 bar). Seats have a maximum allowable leak rate of 0.1 std cm3/min. Shell testing is performed to a requirement of no detectable leakage with a liquid leak detector.
Cleaning and Packaging
Every Swagelok nonrotating-stem needle valve is cleaned and packaged in accordance with Swagelok Standard Cleaning and Packaging (SC-10).
Options
O-Ring Stem SealsO-ring stem seals of Buna C, Buna N, ethylene propylene, fluorocarbon FKM, Kalrez®, and silicone are available factory assembled and in kits for field assembly.
Stem TipsPCTFE stem tip is standard; PEEK material is available factory assembled or in kits for field assembly.
HandlesBlack aluminum knob handles are standard; blue, green, orange, red, and yellow handles are available factory assembled or in kits for field assembly.

Certain 16D series valves can be configured as valves with rupture discs.
