New Swagelok Pressure-Reducing Regulators Provide Accurate, Consistent Delivery Pressures

Ten new models of Swagelok® pressure-reducing regulators provide accurate, consistent delivery pressures to processes and equipment to reduce the likelihood of process variability and protect sensitive equipment. Available in a variety of piston-type and diaphragm-type designs, all models feature a captured inlet gauze-type filter and fine pitch stem threads for precise control.

Swagelok piston-type pressure regulators are commonly used in analyzer zero/span gas control, sample handling systems, manufacturing processes, laboratories, and other systems. Low internal volume allows rapid purging and limits the amount of surface area exposed to contamination. The design mechanically restricts the piston when the regulator is exposed to excess pressure. Five piston-type, pressure-reducing models are available:
  • KCP series -- low internal volume in a compact size
  • KHP series -- high-pressure regulator provides control of supply pressures up to 10,000 psig (689 bar); self-venting capability enables downstream pressure reduction in closed loop systems
  • KHR series -- hydraulic pressure regulator; captured vent enables pressure adjustment in both flow and non-flow conditions
  • KPF series -- high-flow regulator that provides minimum droop across the flow range; a balanced poppet design provides high accuracy of outlet pressure
  • KPP series -- medium-/high-pressure regulator in a lightweight, compact installation footprint

Swagelok diaphragm-type pressure regulators feature an alloy X-750 diaphragm and a leak-tight, metal-to-metal diaphragm seal. This mechanically robust design also helps maintain purity of the process media. Diaphragm-type pressure regulators are used in analyzer zero/span gas control, sampling systems, pilot plants, hydraulic and pneumatic test benches, research laboratories, and other systems. Five diaphragm-type, pressure-reducing regulators are available:

  • KCM series -- offers high accuracy and automatic changeover between gas sources
  • KCY series -- two-stage regulator that is specifically designed for applications requiring constant outlet pressure even while subjected to wide variations in inlet pressure
  • KHF series -- combines the high-flow capabilities of a bulk distribution regulator with the high sensitivity and accuracy characteristics of a point-of-use regulator
  • KLF series -- a low-flow, high sensitivity, pressure-reducing regulator
  • KPR series -- a compact, general-purpose regulator featuring a metal-to-metal sealed convoluted diaphragm and other design features that ensure maximum accuracy, sensitivity, and stability of set point pressure
