Swagelok Biopharm Services Company to Relocate Manufacturing Operations
NORTH TONAWANDA, N.Y. --Swagelok Biopharm Services Company, a wholly owned subsidiary of Swagelok Company, today announced it will relocate its North Tonawanda manufacturing operations to the company's headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio, by second quarter 2006. The production of stainless steel fittings for the biopharmaceutical market will be consolidated into Swagelok's facilities in Solon, Ohio.
The production consolidation will begin immediately and continue in phases until next April. A sales office will be retained in the greater Buffalo area.
"Consistent with Swagelok's employment philosophy, all affected associates will be offered a comparable position in Ohio as well as relocation support in consideration of their service. For those who choose not to move, Swagelok will provide severance and outplacement assistance," says Kevin O'Brien, director, Swagelok Biopharm Services Company.
About 28 of the current 116 manufacturing associates will be affected immediately. Since 1998, Swagelok has consolidated a number of its facilities and logistics operations to become more efficient and better align with the demands of an ever-changing global market place.
