Swagelok.com® Privacy Policy

Swagelok Company is committed to protecting the privacy and security of personal information and/or personal data (collectively referred to as “personal information”). As part of normal business activities, Swagelok may collect and store personal information regarding customers, associates, suppliers, distributors and distributor associates. Information provided to Swagelok will be gathered by Swagelok, its subsidiaries and distributors, with an address at 29500 Solon Road, Solon, Ohio USA 44139.
The following persons or entities may have access to your information that you provide to Swagelok: SWAGELOK, its employees and associates; and Swagelok authorized sales and service centers. Swagelok and its distributors will take reasonable care to protect data and limit access only to associates who have a legitimate business reason to view the data. All parties who have access to your information are required to keep the information confidential and may not use it for any purpose other than to provide you services within the normal business activities of Swagelok and its authorized sales and service centers.
This policy (the “Policy”) applies to all personal information that is provided to Swagelok in any form or medium, and may be amended from time to time. Appropriate notice will be given concerning such amendments to the Policy.
Swagelok never collects or maintains information from those known to be under age 13.
1 GENERAL PRINCIPLES
NOTICE
Swagelok will notify individuals about the purposes for which personal information is collected and used. Information will be provided on how individuals can contact Swagelok with inquiries or complaints regarding personal information. Swagelok will give notice to individuals regarding the types of third parties to which it discloses the information, and provide choice regarding the types of information it discloses.
CHOICE
You can choose to opt-out of having personal information stored in our systems at any time by sending an e-mail to webmaster@swagelok.com or by writing us at Swagelok Company, Information Security, 6262 Cochran Road, Solon, Ohio, 44139. Unless otherwise authorized by the individual, Swagelok will not disclose personal information to a third party. For sensitive personal information Swagelok will provide an affirmative or explicit (opt in) choice if the personal information is to be disclosed to a third party or used for a purpose other than those for which it was originally collected or subsequently authorized by the individual through the exercise of opt in choice.
ONWARD TRANSFER
We will keep your personal information private and will not disclose it to other parties, unless such disclosure is necessary to: (a) comply with federal or state law, a court order or other legal process; (b) protect our rights or property; (c) enforce any of our Terms and Conditions of Use, or (d) in connection with the sale of the company. Prior to disclosing personal information to a third party, Swagelok will apply the aforementioned Notice and Choice Principles. Swagelok will also confirm that any third party subscribes to these seven principles and will enter into a written agreement with such third party requiring that the third party provide at least the same level of privacy protection provided by Swagelok.
SECURITY
Our computer systems are protected by firewalls and other security methods. In the event of a breach of our systems and unless a law enforcement agency informs us that notification would impede a criminal investigation, you will promptly be notified by e-mail, at the e-mail address you provided to us, of any unencrypted personal information that was or was reasonably believed to have been acquired by an unauthorized person.
DATA INTEGRITY
Swagelok will use personal information only for the purposes for which it was collected or subsequently authorized by the individual. To the extent necessary for those purposes, Swagelok will take reasonable steps to ensure that personal information is accurate, current, and reliable for its intended use.
ACCESS
You can request the individual information that Swagelok has collected about you by sending an e-mail to infosec@swagelok.com or by writing us at Swagelok Company, Information Security, 6262 Cochran Road, Solon, Ohio, 44139. You can also have factual inaccuracies in this information corrected, or request that your personal information be removed, by contacting us.
ENFORCEMENT
Swagelok uses a self assessment approach to ensure compliance with this Policy. This includes a periodic assessment to verify the Policy is accurate and being adhered to. If you have concerns, contact us by e-mail at infosec@swagelok.com or write to us at Swagelok Company, Information Security, 6262 Cochran Road, Solon, Ohio, 44139, and Swagelok will investigate and attempt to resolve any complaints and disputes regarding use and disclosure of personal information.
2 EUROPEAN USERS
Swagelok certifies that it abides by the Safe Harbor Agreement between the United States, the European Union, and Switzerland with respect to the collection, use, and retention of personal information. This Policy adheres to the seven Safe Harbor privacy principles of Notice, Choice, Onward Transfer, Access, Security, Data Integrity and Enforcement with respect to personal information from its associates, distributors, suppliers and customers, and may be amended to ensure continued compliance with the requirements of the Safe Harbor principles. If a complaint or dispute cannot be resolved through our internal process, Swagelok agrees to cooperate with the Data Protection Authorities (DPAs) of the EU countries in the investigation and resolution of complaints and will comply with any advice given by DPAs, to remedy issues arising out of any failure to comply with the Principles.

REGISTRATION
Swagelok.com has no registration requirement. At swagelok.com, you have the choice to enter an authorized sales and service center, which enables the placement of orders over the Internet with your selected authorized sales and service center. If you choose not to register, you will be able to access all other areas of swagelok.com.
Whether you choose to register when you visit swagelok.com or not we automatically track and collect the following anonymous information that does not personally identify you but is helpful for administering the site, improving your experience on swagelok.com and marketing purposes: (a) IP address; (b) domain server; (c) type of computer; and (d) type of Web browser.
The collection, processing, and the use of data collected during registration with your authorized sales and service center require your consent. The consent may be declared electronically. At the time of registration, the following data will be collected: your name, e-mail address, company name, telephone number, job title, and market. This is your registration information. If you place an order, billing and shipping address information you supply will be collected to process your order.
COOKIES
Swagelok.com utilizes cookies for several purposes, including the storage of information required to determine how to properly deliver content to your machine. A cookie is provided to all visitors to swagelok.com, regardless of whether you register with an authorized sales and service center.
A cookie is a small piece of information that a Web server stores temporarily using your Web browser and then later retrieves. - To contact you when necessary.
