The Swagelok® Tube Fitting Advantage
Swagelok tube fittings offer reliable, leak-tight connections to avoid critical and costly issues from vibration, leakage, thermal shock, and improper installation.

Leak-Tight Performance
When installed on good quality tubing, Swagelok tube fittings will not leak—even under rugged operating conditions. That’s because they rely on a mechanical, metal-to-metal seal. By tightening the fitting nut, you cold-swage the ferrules onto the tubing.

Swagelok Limited Lifetime Warranty
Swagelok has the confidence in our product to cover both “replacement and installation” in our Limited Lifetime Warranty

Ease of Installation
Swagelok tube fittings are consistently gaugeable. On initial installation, the Swagelok gap inspection gauge assures the installer or inspector that a tube fitting has been sufficiently tightened. If the nut has been properly tightened, the gauge will not fit between the hex of the nut and body.

Simple installation, combined with consistent gaugeability upon initial installation, minimizes installation error.

What Sets Us Apart From the Rest?
The Swagelok tube fitting’s extraordinary performance comes from a combination of design features.

Controlled phased sequential pull-up means that the fitting components work together in systematic harmony providing a design sequence of action, front ferrule to back ferrule, during the course of pull-up.

The patented recessed and contoured geometry of the back ferrule creates the hinging and colleting action that grips the tube.

The patented case hardening process, applied to the Swagelok back ferrule, provides the differential hardness in achieving tube grip over a wide range of installation practices.

The hinging and colleting action provides more material of the back ferrule in close contact with the tube adjacent to the tube grip. This material provides direct and axial support to the tube gripping function.

Extraordinary Performance
Tube Fittings use hinging colleting for leak-tight grip, seal, and vibration resistance. The Swagelok tube fitting performs extraordinarily well in three key factors of performance:

  • Robust tube grip
  • Leak-tight gas seal
  • Excellent vibration resistance

Tube Grip
All tube fittings, by nature of their design, generate an indent or stress riser along the tube during the gripping part of assembly. This indent forms the grip on the tube. The reliability of the tube grip is related to how well the gripping ferrule performs this function.

Gas Seal
Gas seal is achieved through a burnishing or polishing contact by the front ferrule with the fitting body and tube. This burnishing action forms concentrated zones of contact, and allows superior sealing capabilities over a wider range of system conditions.

Vibration Resistance
Vibration resistance is provided by the back ferrule. The design of the Swagelok tube fitting has a protected stress riser through the patented back ferrule geometry, which reduces the damaging effects of system dynamics.

Swagelok Company continuously conducts tube grip and gas seal tests of production tube fittings.
