Coalescing Filtration Orientation of the filter housing is critical for proper operation. The drain port must face down. 1 Gas stream enters side port and moves through filter element from inside to outside. 2 Filter element captures fine liquid droplets suspended in the gas forcing them to coalesce (form large drops) within filter element. 3 Large drops are forced to outside of element by gas flow. Gravity forces the drops to fall away from the element. 4 Liquid exits out drain port. 5 Dry, filtered gas exits through top port and flows to process analyzer. |
Particle Filtration Orientation of the filter is not critical for proper operation. 1 Gas stream enters top port and moves through filter element from outside to inside 2 Filter element captures any particulate suspended in gas. Only a small volume of gas passes through the element. 3 Filtered gas exits side port and flows to the process analyzer. 4 Most gas bypasses filter element, exits through bottom port, and returns to process line. | Cleaning and Packaging All FC series filters are cleaned in accordance with Swagelok Standard Cleaning and Packaging (SC-10).
