We have come a long way since our beginnings in 1981, now with over 20 associates, a wide customer base and ambitious plans for future growth, our philosophy hasn’t changed one bit – we remain totally focussed on helping you reduce your costs and achieve your goals.

1980s 1990s 2001 2003 2005/6 Today
The 1980s
 Privately owned and established in March 1981 as Bristol Valve and Fitting, we started with just a few customers, supported by local stocks and a small dedicated team of sales and service associates.
With our focus on educating customers and in many cases exceeding their expectations in providing the lowest cost solutions we experienced rapid growth throughout the decade. In 1989 we moved to our present purpose-built location (pictured above) that enabled us to better meet our customers’ needs and we quickly became one of the first in our industry to receive the prestigious ISO quality approvals from BSI.

The 1990s
 The 1990s saw us continue to flourish with a growing product range complete with the addition of complementary services such as customer installation training, (pictured) equipment hire, consignment stocks, and electronic product selection methods utilising the latest Swagelok technical innovations.
1997 saw our founder John F Dare retire and the appointment of Bill Peet as Distributor and Managing Director.

2001 
In 2001 we changed our name to Bristol Fluid System Technologies – a name which we felt better reflected the increasing range of Swagelok products and service offerings, also with advances in our distribution channels and our purchasing policies we were able to improve lead times on any standard items not stocked at Bristol to just a few days.

2003
 2003 saw us revise our focus and introduce the concept of having our team of Sales Engineers moving to the role of industry specialists to better serve the needs of key markets such as semiconductor, biopharmaceutical, process, analytical and oil and gas.
The ongoing development of the Swagelok eStore and EDI facilities made it even easier to access product information and for our customers to communicate with and to do business with us.

2005 & 2006
.JPG) 2005 saw the launch of our Integrated Services Division (pictured), providing us with the opportunity to perform sub assembly work across a range of applications – an addition warmly welcomed by a variety of customers. Indeed our commitment to developing this area was recognised by Swagelok as their top performing distributor across the European region in 2006.
2006 also saw us develop our range of Axess products enabling us to offer our customers more of a single source option in providing a number of complementary third party products.
