Swagelok Expands Global Presence
SOLON, Ohio (September 24, 2007)—Swagelok Company announced that it has completed its acquisition of the assets of Hy-Level Industries, a Strongsville, Ohio-based privately held manufacturer of automotive, electronic, and fluid power components. Hy-Level Industries employs about 250 associates in two facilities totaling approximately 200,000 square-feet.
“With the purchase agreement complete, we welcome Hy-Level’s associates to the Swagelok organization,” said Arthur F. Anton, Swagelok company president and chief executive officer. “The similarity in values and culture of the two organizations is striking. Combining our resources and capabilities will increase our capacity and enhance our ability to provide fluid systems solutions for customers around the world.”
The acquisition follows the company’s completion of a 360,000 square foot order fulfillment center in Solon, Ohio in 2006. Both events represent a strong commitment to Northeast Ohio.
Global Expansion Continues
In addition to growth activities in Northeast Ohio, Swagelok is expanding globally. The company completed an expansion of its manufacturing facilities in Switzerland and is in the process of expanding its facility on the Isle of Man. In addition, it plans to break ground this fall to build a 65,000 square-foot plant near Changshu, China, approximately 45 miles west of Shanghai. The plant, expected to be operational by fall of 2008, will manufacture component parts—including stems, poppets, bonnet nuts and inserts—that are presently made by third-party suppliers throughout the world.
