Swagelok Manchester Welcomes Pupils from Helsby High School
Students from Helsby High School visited Swagelok Manchester on the 22nd Feb and 8th March as part of their WorkSkills course. Swagelok Manchester worked in partnership with teachers from Helbsy High School to host two 1.5 hour sessions which provided students with an insight into what life is like in business.
The WorkSkills course which is the equivalent of a grade D (Level 1) or B (Level 2) at GCSE level, has been designed to offer a more hands on, practical approach to education, over the traditional GCSE academic route. Swagelok Manchester helped the school by providing students with valuable insight into its various business functions to help prepare students for the workplace.
Swagelok Manchester MD Jonathan Hall said ‘giving a little back is part of the fabric of our organisation. The students from Helsby High School got to meet and learn from what I would consider some of the most highly skilled, motivated people I have ever worked with’. Speaking about the visit, teacher Megan Ravetz said ‘. The pupils really came away with a lot from both days. I realise it was a company wide effort and it was great to see how much pride everyone had in the company’.
